The Wall Street Journal reported, citing draft IPO papers, that SoftBank-backed SB Energy offered OpenAI warrants worth an estimated 5.5 billion dollars. Andrew Bailey, chair of the Financial Stability Board, told G20 finance ministers that frontier AI can change the economics of cyber attacks, especially where finance depends on a few tech providers. EuroHPC signed a contract with France's Bull for the LUMI-AI supercomputer in Kajaani, Finland, to run on next-generation AMD chips. SB Energy offered OpenAI 5.5 billion dollar warrants
The Wall Street Journal reported, citing draft IPO documents, that SoftBank-backed SB Energy issued OpenAI warrants worth an estimated 5.5 billion dollars to land it as a data-center tenant. The Standard said SB Energy is preparing a U.S. listing that could come as soon as next month, and that the terms are not yet final.
The same investors still sit on both sides of the lease: they fund the lab, they own the power company, and they fill the halls.

FSB chair warns G20 of frontier AI cyber risk
Financial Stability Board chair Andrew Bailey wrote to G20 finance ministers and central bank governors that frontier models show growing autonomy and threat capabilities. He said the most immediate concern for finance is that frontier AI can change the speed, scale, and economics of cyber risk, especially where firms depend on a few technology providers.
A G20 watchdog is treating a handful of labs as a system risk, not a product category.

EuroHPC signs contract for LUMI-AI supercomputer
The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking signed a procurement contract with France's Bull to deploy LUMI-AI at CSC's data centre in Kajaani, Finland. The system will use next-generation AMD Instinct MI430X GPUs and sixth-generation AMD EPYC processors, and EuroHPC said it is the sixth AI Factory machine it has ordered.
A public consortium is buying a cluster on AMD silicon, not a U.S. hyperscaler rack, and says SMEs can use it.

Apple brought Mac launches forward after AI demand
MacRumors, citing The Information, said Apple announced new Mac mini and Mac Studio models earlier than its usual autumn window because enterprise demand for AI hardware ran ahead of forecasts. Apple promoted linking Mac Studios for large local models; the report said high-memory configs have been short, and some buyers have turned to Nvidia's compact DGX Spark.
Desk silicon is selling because labs and shops want machines they can own, even as memory shortages cap how many they can buy.
