OpenAI said Tuesday it will sell Dots, always-on agents, from $100 a month on the company's computers. Anthropic's IPO prospectus, as reported by Reuters, commits at least $518 billion to cloud and chip contracts over a decade, most of it payable whether the capacity is used or not. President Trump released a one-page accord asking Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, X, and Nvidia to audit themselves, and backed more data centers. DeepSeek published free tools for Huawei's Ascend chips. The model a person can rent still lives in someone else's building.

OpenAI charges $100 a month for Dots agents

OpenAI said Tuesday, at its DevDay conference in San Francisco, that Dots are always-on agents meant to handle tasks for a user. CNBC reported that Dots are sold only from the $100-a-month ChatGPT Pro plan up, while Meta's Muse is free up to a usage limit and then starts at $20 a month.
-- The helper runs on OpenAI's computers. A household pays rent. It does not get a copy it can keep.

Anthropic locks in $518 billion of cluster spend

TechTarget reported Monday that Anthropic's IPO prospectus, as seen by Reuters, commits the company to at least $518 billion of infrastructure spending over the next decade. About 80 percent of that sum is non-cancelable or payable whether Anthropic uses the capacity or not, including $111.1 billion with Google, $110 billion with Amazon, and $31.4 billion with Microsoft.
-- The obligation is for cloud contracts and chip leases, not a model a person can run at home.

Trump asks AI labs to police themselves

President Donald Trump on Tuesday released a one-page accord, which he called morally binding, signed by him and executives from Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, X, and Nvidia. The document asks those companies to audit their own AI controls, and Trump said the firms would work to make communities more receptive to new data centers.
-- The checks are voluntary. The buildout beside them is still a cluster, and a home electric bill is not a party to the document.

DeepSeek open-sources tools for Huawei chips

DeepSeek said Wednesday it is open-sourcing programming tools for Huawei's Ascend chips, including TileLang, which the company says is simpler to use than Nvidia's CUDA. The Decoder reported that Huawei supported the work and that the two firms tuned a cluster of 128 Ascend 950 chips.
-- The code is free to download. The machines it targets are still a data-center cluster, not a desktop.
