President Donald Trump told Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang on Monday that fears of an AI takeover are a hoax, and Huang said the United States will not let a slowdown happen. Reports say OpenAI bought Glass Imaging, a camera software startup founded by former Apple engineers, for more than $300 million. Nvidia said Perplexity's local agent now runs on Windows PCs with 24GB of RTX memory. Apple said Siri AI began rolling out Monday as an English beta with iOS 27.

Huang put the president on speaker at a Los Angeles investor conference and agreed, in public, that the United States will not slow the factories. That is a political guarantee for the cluster, not a smaller power bill. The same afternoon, reports said OpenAI paid more than $300 million for a camera lab founded by former Apple engineers, another step toward a device the household would hold. Nvidia and Apple both shipped assistants that can run on a machine you already own, if the machine is new enough and, for Siri, if the language is English. The training run still sits in the rented hall.

President Donald Trump phoned Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang during Monday's All-In Summit in Los Angeles, called fears that robots will take over a hoax, and said the United States will not let an AI slowdown happen. Huang put the call on speaker and told the president, "You're right. We're not going to let that happen, sir."
-- The chipmaker and the White House told investors the factories will keep running; a household near a data center still pays for the power.

Reports say OpenAI bought Glass Imaging, a Los Altos camera-software company founded by former Apple engineers Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, for more than $300 million. OpenAI did not immediately comment; the Wall Street Journal, cited by TechCrunch, said the startup uses neural networks on the camera itself rather than editing photos after the shot.
-- A lab that rents the training run is buying the camera that would sit in a pocket; that is a device strategy, not a smaller cluster.

Nvidia said Perplexity Portable Computer is now in the Windows app on GeForce RTX and RTX PRO PCs with 24GB or more of memory, so the agent can plan and finish tasks on the machine without spending cloud credits. Nvidia said sensitive files stay on the device unless the user allows a cloud step, and that the same product already ran on Linux RTX PCs and DGX Spark.
-- A Windows box with enough memory can keep household files off a rented cluster, if the owner buys the card.

Apple said Siri AI began rolling out Monday as an English beta with the 2027 software releases, including iOS 27, and that French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish follow in October. Apple said the assistant can use personal context from messages, mail, and photos, take actions in apps, and that it is not available for users under 13.
-- A phone that answers from mail already on the device is a path that does not put the household's inbox on a rented cluster.
