Nvidia said Friday that a 64-gigabyte DGX Spark computer will go on sale on October 23 from Acer, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, and MSI, starting at $4,999, and that the machine can run models of up to 100 billion parameters on the device. Apple told developers the same day that it will require a very explicit user action before a Mac app can receive Full Disk Access, citing the growing reach of AI agents. Anthropic said it is committing $100 million to train 10,000 engineers to put Claude to work inside companies by the end of 2027. The Michigan Public Service Commission said Thursday that it approved contracts for DTE Electric to supply a Google data center in Van Buren Township, and that other customers will not pay the project's costs. The Justice Department said Thursday that it arrested a California man on charges of smuggling more than $300 million in export-controlled computer servers to China.

The computer on the price list is a thing a person can order. The power contract in Michigan is not. Ordering the box does not include the weights a company account still rents, and a Mac will ask again before an agent reads the mail. The arrest is about servers that were not supposed to leave the country.

Nvidia said Friday that a 64-gigabyte version of its DGX Spark computer will be sold by Acer, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, and MSI starting October 23, at $4,999. Nvidia said the machine supports models of up to 100 billion parameters, running fully on the device.
-- A person can order the computer. The 100-billion-parameter figure is Nvidia's claim, not an independent test.

Apple told developers on Friday that it will add controls so a user can grant Full Disk Access on a Mac only with a very explicit action. Apple said some apps already use that permission to reach files, mail, messages, and browsing history, and that the risk grows as AI agents become more autonomous.
-- The change, when it ships, sits on a computer a person owns. It does not move a lab model onto that computer.

Anthropic said Friday that it is committing $100 million to Claude Frontier Academy, and that it aims to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027. The company said the first cohorts are already running in San Francisco, New York, and London, and include engineers from Accenture, Bain, Deloitte, McKinsey, and Morgan Stanley.
-- The money trains people to deploy Claude inside companies. It does not put the weights on a home machine.

The Michigan Public Service Commission said Thursday that it approved contracts for DTE Electric to supply a Google data center in Van Buren Township, on the condition that other customers do not pay the project's costs. The commission said Google must pay for up to 1,600 megawatts of renewable generation and 480 megawatts of battery storage, under a 20-year contract.
-- The order decides who pays for a data-center hookup. It does not, by itself, lower a household electric bill.

The Justice Department said Thursday that it arrested Greg Lui, owner of Earthmade Computer in California, on charges of smuggling more than $300 million in export-controlled computer servers to China. Prosecutors said the servers contained US-made graphics processors used for advanced AI, and that the shipments ran through third countries.
-- The case is about keeping restricted servers inside export rules. It does not release a model a person can run.

Nvidia put a $4,999 computer on sale for October 23 and said it can run a 100-billion-parameter model in the room. Apple said a Mac app will need a clearer yes before it can read the whole disk. The larger commitments are still a Google power contract in Michigan, a federal case over servers bound for China, and Anthropic's plan to train company engineers on Claude. The cluster still holds the power contract and the frontier weights.
